In 2018, Upkram started working at Sonbhadra, Uttar Pradesh, with a vision to bring educational equity and change the narratives to a positive one. We believe that every child irrespective of their gender, ethnicity, and geography has the right to quality education and to reach their highest potential.
An organized effort was initiated with a focus on engaging with children from marginalized communities i.e., Dalit, Bahujan and Adivasi groups (DBA) and creating a contextual learning environment for them. We do this by focusing on three areas – providing opportunities for experiential learning, exposure to diverse pedagogical practices to develop critical skills, and ensuring the emotional well-being of students.
